New Delhi ( The Indian View team) : Iran has urged its citizens to reduce electricity consumption after US strikes on energy infrastructure in the country’s south placed additional strain on the national power grid.
In a statement issued on Friday, Iran’s Energy Ministry said the affected southern regions were facing “extreme heat and attacks on power infrastructure,” prompting the appeal to conserve electricity.
The ministry did not specify which facilities were targeted, and it remains unclear whether the strikes hit power plants, transmission lines or other parts of the electricity network.
